Damn...I guess I should watch that vid---I always liked the links between music and physics....But I'll have to wait til monday with this dail up here at home to see it.

I didn't know ontology, quantum physics and acoustics were such vehement topics on this board!
Maybe the real topic is more about board etiquitte...anyhoo, it's always amusing how perfect the internet is for the dissemination of whatever anyone wants to promote--true or not.Maybe that was really Jed_Fluery's point. I suppose he could have been a little kinder in making it.

I did feel that the quote below needed commented on though...

The idea that science is not a part of consciousness or spirituality is now being shown to be a gross misunderstanding. Many scientists are debating whether or not to throw out Newtonian principles such as electrons as a particle and even gravity itself as we know it. Huge changes are taking place that are affecting psychology, physics, biology and spirituality.

That's what modern quantum physics, the gaia hypothisis (check out physicist Peter Russell's book "The Global Brain") and Einsteinian physics is all about.

FWIW, this is nothing new at all in philosophy. Phenomonology is all about that...check out some Husserl or Heidegger if you're into that sort of thing. Written well over 60 years ago.

True - but I bet if you buy Horowitz's book (which I certainly wouldn't do), you'd find the reference to this guy somewhere in the bibliography/index.

But most CERTAINLY....Jed needs to answer the Dead questions. Like my hint?
