Well, I listened to all of you and went to see Ratdog and Gov't Mule last night at the Cuthbert here in Eugene, OR. I must say, I was totally impressed by Warren Haynes (always am) and really liked the mule.

Ratdog didn't seem to show me anything new. They did mostly Jerry songs, Shakedown, Aiko, West LA, Touch, etc. The guitar player (Karan?) had the Jerry sound down and it was like a watered-down version of Jer. I keep giving them a chance and keep getting disappointed. Maybe my expectations are too high?

At least the venue and the weather was awesome.

Gov't Mule opened, played early (6:30) in the hot sun, but still rocked hard. Then Warren came out with Ratdog for some songs but, surprisingly, only played acoustic. He did trade lyrics with Bob on Masters of War.

I couldn't agree more Warren is by far my favorite guitarist playing today and Gov't Mule are so tight their shows are so much fun. I wound see them anytime its possible. Glad you had a good time. As for Ratdog I think we all know what you mean I always enjoy them but they are what they are.As guitarist who love/miss Jerry seeing those songs performed live kind of bums me out and makes me think of what might have been.That said I do enjoy their shows but, I would rather see Mule anytime.

If you know what to expect with Ratdog, then they are OK. I dig Bobby, don't get me wrong, but Ratdog always reminds me of a GD lounge act. I will go see them when they come around, but would definitely see Phil first. It doesn't have anything to do with either of them per say, just that i think Phil is putting out a better product these days.

The Glens Falls show with Trey( P and Friend) was the best show period i had seen since the Dean Center Dead show in 1993.

When i heard Ratdog break out Lazy Lightning in 4/4 time i actually thought Bobby might be going senial!! Just my .02

Wow... Mule opens for Ratdog, thats lamer than the Black Crowes opening for Dave Mathews.

The Glens Falls show with Trey( P and Friend) was the best show period i had seen since the Dean Center Dead show in 1993.

I never got to see the Dead and that Glens Falls show was the absolute best show that I have ever seen period. The energy in that place was through the roof, and Trey played his ass off and was trading licks with Larry Campbell all night.

Phil and Bobby need to get over it and play together again. Phil once said they were like fingers on a hand . and the best Phil show was the last sat. of the NYC run, off the hook
