I would have to go for Melissa without doubt. I think that song has alot depth.

Closely followed by Blue Sky and Jessica.

I don't think Dickey has really gotten the credit he deserves.

i had no idea how cool the allman's were until i saw them live at laguna seca in the 90's. they opened with hot 'lanta and i'd have to say it's my favorite ever since. i also love ain't wastin time, great tune. i dig the heavier instrumentals best, i like nobody knows alot. cool riffs.

i got to hang out with and interview allen woody a few years before he died. big guy, awesome bassist. he smoked me out in his hotel room as we talked about his instruments. went backstage to their show that night and also met warren haynes, jaimoe and was standing by dickey betts for awhile, but didnt recognize him because he was clean shaven. only after he was on stage did i realize i'd missed the chance to introduce myself as a fan of his playing. the allman's are so macho, i don't think most people realize that you can headbang to alot of their tunes.

very rarely will you find a band in which half the crowd is head banging and pumping their fists, and the other half is cutting a serious rug. It's a beautiful thing. harmony due to harmonies.

as far as I'm concerned, the Allman Brothers Band is the best jam I've ever heard (espesially the modern line up). and keeping with tradition, if you don't agree you can kiss my ass :-P

i know i posted some stupid shit the night of my orighinal question (alcohol does that)...., but i gotta agree with the last post

you will not find a crowd pumpin their fists and still have the same crowd grovin at the same time like an allman concert

these guys just hit a chord that no one can resist

i dare anyone to go to a concert and not be moved

peace
