Seems like this is the most common issue I have encountered with guitars... i think it is caused by the cord end getting jammed into the input jack. Anyways, the problem is that my jack seems to be loose or something, and you have to wiggle the chord into the right position in the jack to get sound to come out, otherwise the sound cuts out.. Im sure you know what I am talking about. It seems like this would be an easy fix but help is greatly appreciated

this used to happen to me, but i fixed it and its worked fine since. i opened up my guitars control plate and looked at the jack, which seemed like the metal thing that makes contact with the end of the cable was bent out a little too far and that wouldve caused the shorting out, since it wasnt making contact with the jack. all i did was bend the metal thing back toward the cable a little bit so it was tighter to the cable tip when it went in. works like a charm.

could also try spraying contact cleaner into the jack and the plug.
