While looking into Les Paul style guitars, I came across Minarik Guitars, and they have a cool looking one with a Jerry-esque cut on the horns (there is a place to click on the right to see it in different colors):

Father/Son team out of Cali.
Son worked for some guitar maker like Dean or something.The guitars have hollow chambers.
I liked the Goddess a lot at one time and called them to ask questions.
I didn't want to buy the guitar from a local shop that carried them cause the shop was shady and the guy wouldn't give me a straight answer for $.
They were willing to ship it right to me.
The limited edition was nice I think built in the U.S.
The $800 range guitars are made in Korea or something and then they do set ups in Cali.
I didn't buy one.
I saw the Flame guitar up close and it was a decent quality looking thing with a skinny tapered neck.
Also Guitar Player did an article about the limited edition Goddess.

Thanks for the info.
I am going to look at one (Fire Burst Goddess) in person on Thurs.
All that stuff on the neck looks a little gaudy to me though... not real crazy about gold hardware either. 'Just like to check stuff out though, I guess!
There is a link to the GP mag review on that site.
Compared to the $799 range Gibsons (Les Paul Special, Faded SG, etc...) it looks like a more likely choice to my eye.

I think I would want different pups.
Not sure how it would compare to a Les Paul in quality.
Def. be interested in your opinion when you play it...
Doesnt seem good enough for you Pete.
They claim its good for bluesy/semi - jazzy stuff.
Me thinks it meant to be cranked through a Marshall for some reason .....
I dont know maybe you will love it.
Bet it doesnt play as good as it looks;frets tone playability.
Might not offer enough to a player of your talents.
Let me know what you think though.
