Didn't it come from "being hep' or 'cool', which is another way to say aware. Anything that dulls consciousness dulls awareness. Of course you could argue that acid doesn't dull awareness, but anything that makes you stare at an album cover for an hour is narrowing focus not expanding the mind. Mind blowing, yes! I guess at 4A, I saw that post as another WTF and it rankles that what made the Dead the great metaphor and release was the music which eventually got too mixed up with and associated with drug use. OK, WTF?, it was just a dumb ass photo. Now look what I started. Maybe a path to awareness.yea......it was just a joke, ya know?
