If the refs saw it, believe me they would have called. ESPN didn't notice it till after the game and it's been all over tV since then.

Pens outplayed the Rangers in the first 10 minutes, got outplayed in the following 20, then turned it up.

They had 2 power plays in the first 10 minutes. Once the rangers killed them they were all over the pens. Rangers eased up after it 3-0 and that is was did it in for them. Once it was even up I saw the ranger for the most part taking the game to the pens.

You can only blame losing on poor reffing to a certain extent

The reffing overall was not that bad. Only 2 calls against the rangers while defending Syd that were not penalties. No way you call that penalty at the end of tie game in the playoffs. Bit only blame the loss to a certain extent on the refs, I also blame it on lapses in D(Rangers fault) and the pens getting 3 of 5 goals deflected in off of skates (bad luck).

Yeah, the two PKs were huge, don't get me wrong. But the Pens went 8-0 in shots and very few were a result of being on the PP (which sucks, because they should have had many more..)

For the deflections... Rangers got their first off one. That second goal really looked like a high stick to me, but since it was ruled as a goal on the ice and the video evidence was 'inconclusive', not much you can do. But, yeah, deflections are lucky, but better my team comes out on top then the opposing, no?

Rangers lapse in D certainly didn't help. As far as defense is concerned, I've been wishing for months now that the Pens would stop playing Whitney. That guy is a huge liability. If the coach wants to play him, I wish he'd fake an illness in order to keep off the ice. Would help out immensely I think

avery is such a punk man, its fun to watch, just waiting for a fight to break out and the benches to clear, I could see it going down if this series makes it to six (or seven!)

Either way, Penguins vs. Philly would be unreal, as long as Biron can continue his stellar play! especially with the two cities being right there, could be great for the NHL and Versus.

AND Detroit vs. Dallas would be intense as well.

im putting money on Detroit this year, they are rockin' and rollin' right now and look impossible to beat.

Yes, hardeeharrharr, indeed TJedi. The funniest thing about that post is the typical "We want to kill the best player in the league" comment. I love it!!! I loved it when Super Mario was playing. Every hockey fan outside of Pittsburgh wanted him to get injured or have a relapse...yet there he'd be - missing 25-30 games in a season and STILL winning the scoring title. Alas, young Sid didn't take the title this year, but there's no stopping him now.

If the Rags or the upcoming Criers try to take a cheap shot at him, they'd sure better make it count, 'cause you sure don't want Georges Laraque to retalliate.
