1)Harry Hood (nothing says pastoral beauty like jerry's playing and harry hood, they're a natural fit)

2)Silvio (cool song when done by ratdog i bet jerry'd make it even better)

3)Old Home Place (i wish the dead did some bluegrass, since it's so in tune with their roots)

4)Little Wing (as long as it's not the clapton version, i bet jerry can do a killer solo)

Trenchtown Rock is a great choice, I love that song.

I will also nominate:
Ophelia
Have You Ever Seen The Rain
(how wild a jam would this be:) Funkadelic's Nappy Dugout
and I know they played this once or twice, but I would have loved if Keep On Growing became a more prominent fixture of the repertoire.

Papa's got a brand new bag (james brown)- (with pigpen rap)

Life is a carnival (the band)- Jerry has expressed really liking this tune in an interview.

Come Together (beatles) Really like what ratdog has done with the tune and think the Dead could take it really far out.

She came in through the bathroom window (beatles) Not sure I like the band doing the whole Mr. Mustard, Poly pam part, so another song would have to lead into it.

One more cup of coffee (the valley below) I would love to hear Brent take lead vocal on this one and Jerry be able to work on those eastern influenced licks!

For some reason, I have always thought that they would really rip up that old Mexican folk song, "Guantanamera". Not really sure why, but I just used to think that they would sound great on it.

Beyond that, I wanted to see more Beatles covers, like "Dig A Pony","For No One", stuff like that. Also, "When the World is Running Down", by the Police.

I think Jerry and Grisman could have done a cool version of Taj Mahal's "Lovin' From My Baby's Eyes"

but as far as Dead, I think they could have done

Bob Dylan:

Just Like a Woman - Dylan (Jerry)
Isis - Dylan (Brent and Bobby trade lines)
Watching The River Flow - Dylan (Jerry)
Man Of Peace - Dylan (Bobby)
Baby, Let Me Follow You Down - Dylan (Brent)
Many Rivers to Cross - Jimmy Cliff (Brent)

Yeah, I'll back Sultans, as well. Once I saw Knopfler is coming to Turkey this year, I started looking into his stuff - of course highlighted by Sultans. Great song!

I'll add:
Wooden ships - CSN
Hey Joe - Hendrix
Superstition - Stevie Wonder
Hide your love away - Beatles
feelin' alright - traffic

I'll second "In to the Mystic" and "Sultan's".

Would have liked to seen some more Marley covered. Maybe "Redemption Song", or "No Woman, No Cry".

I'm absolutely sick to death of Floyd and would be fine not hearing one of their tunes for another decade, but there's a goldmine there. "Shine On", "Wish You Were Here"?

"Achey Breakey Heart"....just kiddin'.
