Hey Guys,

RAMBLIN' ROSE April 19, 2008 The Goodfoot Lounge, Portland, OR
Throwing Stones> Jack Straw, Brown-Eyed Women, Minglewood Blues, Sugaree, Samson & Delilah, Shakedown Street, Playin' In The Band> Playin' Reprise, Crazy Fingers> Estimated Prophet> Bertha, One More Saturday Night
*{entire show:Peter Bach- rhythm guitar & vocals; Ashbury Park, Ramblin' Rose}*

The TS>JS was a last minute consideration that turned out to be just about the perfect pace to open for a small crowd which was steadily coming in the room as we opened. We were really glad we saved the Shakedown for later in the set when the crowd had grown and begun to get rowdy; in the mood for the funk. Fun show, I hear it got recorded...

Thanks, pap! Some cool developments, gearwise, I was playing my Strat for the first time in several months, now packing waldo's TUGB preamp and with some wiring adjustments... also I dumped my BBE Crusher distortion finally and have gone back to the SD-1 for now... and I used my vintage Ibanez AD-80 delay!

China Cat> Julius, I can totally imagine that as a nicely teased out transition!

 #43969  by pappypgh

YO TS!

We built to the typical transition to Rider, but brought it down to a bit of a spacey jam transitioning from D to A....and it petered into Julius. The crowd was pumped and started clapping (to the snapping part of Julius). VERY cool night last night....one of those nights where a lot of great karma comes together and you don't notice the clammage as much, 'cause the hot moments are so hot.

ALSO - a gear note (as I know you're into it!)... I played my Frankensteined Stratocaster last night for the first time live, since getting the new SBM custom. HAD to have some MIDI stuff for Dark Star!!! I played it from Chain Of Fools through the jam at the end of Gimme Some Lovin'. Pretty cool to play around with the GR-09 again...it's been a while!!

Take care! Pappy

we played the China jam like we would into Rider with a big fat jam with massive energy then when rider would normally come in we broke it down and slid into Julius...IMHO it was pretty sweet
