I believe it is just the pickup combination with my old peavy amp. it's weird though, lately, sometimes, it hasn't been all that annoying. I placed the amp behind me, and that seemed to calm it down quite a bit.

It's weird thouugh, if I hold the guitar perpendicular to the floor while playing,the noise is next to nothing. weird.

I'll bet it's a grounding and/or shielding problem. How is it shielded? And do you have a Multi-meter? Your ground to your bridge and strings may be open, or a poor connection. I had a Jazzmaster, that put a wire under the bridge... after the years, the wire pushed down into the wood and although it was in contact, it was poor enough to buzz.

I own 1!! Its a white gloss finish. i actually loaded it with Super II's and the sds-1. Its got the CAE original preamp in it with coil taps and effects loop. It sounds good.

what do you mean by sheilded? what's a Multi-meter?
not all pickup positions buzz. neck, middle, middle-bridge.

You should probably take it to a local tech and see if it is shielded and grounded properly... The shielding is a conductive paint (not so good) or foil that completely surrounds/coats the cavity that your electronics and pickups sit in. It protects the electronics from picking up outside electrical interference, usually heard as a hum or buzz. A multi-meter can be used to check continuity in your grounding circuit. I use copper sheeting to shield everything. The better the shielding/grounding, the quieter your signal is, until it gets to the amp. The fact that the buzz changes at different angles indicates to me that you have a shielding problem. it's especially important with single coil pups...
