I was playing Breathe by Pink Floyd earlier today and I realized that this song would be even more amazing if someone jammed out the ending instead of going straight into On the Run...

and it got me thinking, what other non-dead tunes have amazing jam potential?

We've gotten a lot of mileage out of Breakdown by Tom Petty. Taken it everywhere from On Broadway to Watchtower; Moondance to Dark Star and several points in between. Gotta love those two-chorders!

Lots of Floyd works...I always liked extending Great Gig in the Sky (G min C7 ad infinitum)

White Rabbit is another good one.Of course there's plenty of Phish tunes as well. Try Wolfman's Brother and Possum as a couple of easy ones.

"The Core" by Eric Clapton is a good one to jam on.
I love that cool lick he plays (basically the Intro lick, in E).
'Also qualifies as a good non-GD tune for bands with female vox.

A similar jam is "Angry Eyes", by Loggins & Messina.

Edit: The outro jam to ZZ Tops "I'm Bad, I'm Nation Wide" is also a pretty killer jam.

These are all good tunes for swapping 16 bars with another soloist.
