I was never a particularly huge fan but Enya used to really do the trick for me. I had a 1 hour mixtape of her songs and I never really got past the first few but boy did she put me to sleep. Really soothing voice and arrangements.

Also, I have recently discovered Reiki healing music. Reiki is this school of touch healing through some special massage. You are supposed to play the CD as well and its all nature sounds interspersed with mellow piano and stuff like that.

Also, mellow GD works well. Box of Rain, El Paso, Dark Star, etc.

I think I will throw on 9-18-74 on my way out tonight. Peace folks.

personally, I would take some Phish over a lot of other things. Some of their material is pretty easy to fall asleep to. Especially from farmhouse or divided sky, ex.

Good call. I think it was sophomore year in high school that I listened Billy Breathes every night for months. Thanks for helping me remember. I'm gonna check it out tonight. It's been forever since I've heard it in it's entirety and I know it'll bring back a whole lot of memories.

My fricking wife needs the TV on to sleep.Sets the timer for 90 minutes.Always violent depressing crap.
Drives me crazy.
When shes not around,I find the classical channel on the Directv and check that out for as long as I can stay awake.
Which isnt long.

Interesting. That is one of my favorite discs for when I am running on a treadmill. Kinda helps the keep the energy level up for me. To each his own I suppose. Either way, that is a really solid disc.

As a non-Phish fan, I'm just going to leave that one alone. :)

Exactly like me. Cannot have the slightest form of light. And the fan is a MUST. It doesnt even have to be pointed at me. I just need that little bit of noise in the room. Ive tried puttin music on. Like Ill put on a dead album, and the next thing you know the album is over and im still awake. I focus too much on the music to the point where I cant sleep.

haha, what i do. even though its cold outside, i need a fan running for the bit of noise it makes. though these days i point it in the opposite direction.

as far as music goes, haven't listened to any to sleep in a while. used to just toss on the dead, but i think massive attack would be good for sleeping, very calm music
