When it doesn't fit anywhere else

Just bought it. This is mouth watering stuff! I have 2 of these shows on CD already but I can't wait to hear the Crystal clear quality as 73 sbd's always seem to have a little buzz to them. The 11/11 show has always been a favorite of mine.

wow, i can not wait for this. Does everyone agree that they need to release more shows like this? How sweet would it be if they released the 9 night run at MSG in 1988.

I'd like to get a "best of the rest" from the remainder of the Europe '72 tour. I know for a fact there's a couple of really sweet China/Riders and Dark Stars from that tour that haven't made it on a release yet. Not to mention a ton of other stuff. I hope Rhino plans on putting out some DVD's in the future.

Wasn't there a recent thread where everyone was going to boycott Rhino? but this will really make that tough.

Ever since they pulled the soundboards off of Archive.org, I decided that I would no longer financially support the band. Thirty years of going to shows, buying merchandise, buying every release and then to deprived of what Jerry always said was for the Deadheads after the band had played it, was a total effront.

I have enough in my collection to listen to that I don't need to continue to fill the coffers.

Peace.

For all the joy this band's music has brought me, I am more than willing to "help fill the coffers!" Not to mention the fact that the archive is still there for every one to listen to. I understand your problem with not allowing SBD downloads but when jerry made his statement that "it belongs to them" it should be noted he was asked a question specificly about the tapeing community and audience tapes.

I respect your decision to boycott and make a statement, I just feel differently about the situation.

I totally agree with some of the previous posts.
Its all about the $$$$$$.
They want more.
If they didn't want people to have the soundboards they should have cracked down as soon as the Archive started letting peps download.
Instead they probably thought it was a good from a business sense 1st- ya getting the music out there type thing. But after the Cash Cow moved on to the Great Beyond they figured it was time to cash in.
They want more $$$$$
I read an interview of Betty Cantor who said the purpose of the soundboards was for quality control. To make sure everything was sounding as it should;and not meant for listening use.I read that in a Dead Base type book that was filled with cool interviews of the Deads employees.Hey they didn't have their shit together and now its stick -it-to -the -fans time.
Not to mention that an official release will sound way better than its soundboard.
Ya know the boards that got the kick up high or no Bob or whatever.
When a release comes out it is remastered and is better sounding.People will BUY that ! And I buy them whenever I can.I never download but my friends do and I benefit. We Spend the $$$$$ we they release anything.I mean this new series called RoadTrips is a glorified mix tape.A joke.
I guess the thing that bugs me is that it is so UN-Deadlike.It only hurts the die-hards.Nobodies going to the Archive ,finding the Dead for the 1st time, and only listening to the free stuff.
And I dont see this as "Stealing" from an artist. At all.Its a mess of the Deads own creation.Soundboards were out there way before the Archive and people traded them. The Dead never said No trading of soundboards.
When it benefited them to let people download they were fine with it.
This situation is maybe unique to the Dead and I can see why other artists would do the same. But not the Dead.
To me the Dead = Red White and Blue, apple pie ,a can do American spirit,Freedom and all things wholesome.
It almost hurts to see the end coming.
