Hey all -

On the many recommendations of the kind folks here, I just ordered a DiscomBOBulator. The catch is that it should be here Friday and I've got a major gig Sat night and won't have time to really play around with it. Can anyone post some sample settings I can start off with?

May well be it's not necessary, the thing's so easy to use... but I'm used to having to constantly tweak my lame AW-3 to even approach something I like. In any event, I'm starting to get nervous about going in cold with a new pedal.

I'm looking for the classic Jer Shakedown/Fire/Stranger/Cats sound (surprise! ).

It should come with a sample setting card. Mine did. In case yours doesn't here it is:

there are 3 knobs and a toggle.

3 knobs are sensitivity, width and attack.

the numbers = clock settings

"fast & thick"

S2 up W5 A5

"slow and steady"

S1 up W2 A1

"Clickin' B3"

S5 down W3 A3

"Something Else"

S3 down W5 A3


When using it with my strat (I haven't experimented with it with the strat a whole lot) I found it a little difficult to dial in.

With my Schecter with the humbuckers it was very easy and sounded great.

Not sure what that was about but I need to experiment with the strat more.

setting all the knobs to 2 o'clock gives a nice rhythm tone.
it works well for solos too

I also pretty much set it and forget it, with all knobs at the 2 o'clock area.
If you are going to play with a really hard pick and heavy (right) handed stroke, you might dial the first knob (on the left) back to the 12-1 o'clock range.

Glad to hear. Another satisfied Emma customer. Where did you purchase it, btw? I got a good deal on mine @ musictoyz.

I actually ordered on from them, but when I checked the order the next day... it was back-ordered, which they did NOT indicate on their order page. So, cancelled that order and frantically searched high and low, but most places weren't expecting new stock till anywhere from late April to June. Finally found the last one at a place in Atlanta called earthshakingmusic.com, who shipped it to me overnight so I could get it for the gig. I probably paid about $80 more than if I'd waited, but a big tip of the hat to them for getting it to me. Completely worth it.

Keeley also busted their butt to get me the 808 in time.... also a great pedal.

I like me new toys.

Mine is not set like Shakedown's. I think that is because i use for 2 guitars and rythem/lead. Here is it's placement on my board:



i think it sounds best before a clean boost/and od.I use the Mcro vibe or Rotoshere with it off and on...
