Never was much of a fan of the Grammy's. Ever since they decided to include Heavy Metal and gave the first metal award to Jethro Tull, I was just bemused by them. Much prefer the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which although it too is getting pretty iffy(Madonna? John Mellencamp?) at least provides a much better show (Cream reunion, talking Heads reunion, etc) to watch.
I just don't seem to resonate with "pop" music, and even though I liked some oldschool rap (Tribe called quest, Ice-T, KRS-1) I don't really enjoy much music that doesn't include a full band and a great live show. All the rappers I've ever seen perform for about an hour and it's all prerecorded. That doesn't work for me. The Grammy's don't cut it.
