I have a gig in 2 weeks and need to learn an upbeat acoutical version of Franklin's Tower. Any help would be appreciated particularly on the opening verses.

I like to do with standard barres on my acoustic.

A, G, D,
the D i shape like a C (X54232)

Or you can go A-A-A (open, "E" barre on 5th fr or "C" shape on 9th fr.), G ("C" shape on 7th fr), D-D-D("A" barre on 5th fr or "G" shape at 7th fr)

If your going to play it caged i recomend basic ornaments on G instead of the standard second step up. this would make it alot more intersting

kepp the D, G, and B strings barred on the 7th fret as you do the trills and such, you can also trill the 7 and 8th frets of the B string

this will definatly spruce it up if your playing by yourself
