Saw a clip that said during Jerry's recovery from coma he listened to tons of Charles Ives, Buddy Holly, and Charlie Parker while relearning to play the guitar. Anyway so I downloaded some Ives cause I had not really heard any. I'm blown the fuck away and will buy a CD or 2 today if there is one at the sto. Anyone familiar with him and have suggestions. I've heard 4 songs(movements) so far and love them all.

Devil--

Thanks for sharing! I had never heard of Charles Ives until I read your post. So I looked him up and listened to an album on Rhapsody. Holly shiittt! This is the best modern-classical music I have ever heard. The phasing and changes are amazing. So much emotion in his compositions. I can see why Jerry listened to it.

If you like Ives-- check out "Evening With Chick Corea & Herbie Hancock." It's the two greatest electric keyboardist jazz/fusion players straying away from their regular stuff. Recorded LIVE, it's just the two of them playing a duet on two acoustic pianos. It's a mix between neo-classical, jazz, fusion, and chaos-- and of course improv.

Check it out.
