Get it.
This board is good and but so are other sources too.
The dvd shows a guy playing various Dead tunes.Both guitar parts.He has a backing band that he plays along to.
The Playin' is the Ace version.He doesnt do the solo.
The Eyes is the Wake of the Flood version.The guy goes over how to solo over Eyes.
The Bob licks are pretty good.
No tab.He does offer some scales but not too much in the theory department.
Ive found stuff on all the songs that are cool and helpful.Even the Bertha(From Skull and Roses).
The guy is solid if not kinda laid back.
He plays originals and is in the band Cubensis,a GD cover band that has been around for years out of Cali.
If you have dial up at home like me(sucks for the vids on RUKIND)then the 2 cds are a good substitute.
I think the guy gives you pretty accurate stuff.At the beginning he says take these licks to band practice,so he knows whats up.

I have both of his (and one he did of Dark Side of the Moon-the whole album) along with a whole library of Instructional DVD's and I find them the best way for me to learn. I can take the time and really sit down and go over them in minute detail and it is easier for me than tab or anything else. I don't know if others are visual learners, but I am so the DVD's are a real help, just like the vid's on this site are better than the tabs (although I appreciate having both). So if DVD's help you, get it for sure!

I also have both Legendary Licks DVD's and the Pink Floyd DSOTM DVD. I think they are all really great! My only problem is not having enough time to sit down and watch them!

He's a total goober, but he only shows the guitar, not himself, and he actually plays along with the actual recording of the song, and he teaches you the whole damn song and often gives you guitar parts for some of the other instruments if they're prominent in the mix. I have his Skynyrd, Allmans, Doors, Trower, Zepp, etc. and they all are great.

Other than his, I really like Homespun vid's. The Doc Watson is incredible as are Jorma's.

The only blues I have are from songxpress CLASSIC BLUES VOLUME 1 SONGXPRESS and AUSTIN BLUES VOLUME 1 SONGXPRESS
and I can't really recommend them. While it's got both video and tab, it's dumbed down and not quite what I look for in a video. And the cheese-factor is through the roof! The song selection is great, but the guy singing is pitiful! The up side is that they're quite easy and geared toward beginners and each song is harder than the next one. They're not terrible, but nowhere near as good as the others.

I know what you mean about the "cheese factor".
I have a blues DVD from Rock House Method, and it's a metal dude teaching the blues, ... horrible! his whole sound, tone etc.

I also have a Ted Nugent DVD that is amusing if you like Ted but he doesn't really teach anything just blabs and plays a riff once in a while.

I also have a "In the Style Of" Pink Floyd in which the guy just plays riffs and doesn't even say what song it is.... must be a copyright thing!

I had a couple Jorma VHS tapes from Homespun that were good.
