Paulee,

Who built that guitar? It's very pretty....nice likeness to an Irwin / Garcia model, yet DEFINITELY not a blatent knock-off. Way different bridge tail-piece, head-stock, electronics, back, etc... Very pretty. Did you have it built, or did you buy it from someone else?

I'm all curious, as I am currently getting one built and will post some cool pics as soon as I get it (anticipating end of this month, possibly beginning of March).

You can see pics of the construction of mine on www.theCAUSEjams.com/photos and scroll all the way down to the bottom of that page.

Beautiful axe, man. I, too, would like to hear a clip!!

Paulee!
I was watching your guitar get built on the Factory to Customer threads on Alembic dot com. Beautiful! I too am fortunate to have a Tribute....it's my Bobby Axe! LOL. Yeppers. Great guitar, so many tones you can get out of that. I turn off the middle pickup and casn even get the old Semi-Hollow tone of a 335. Nice. Enjoy it. It's truly a piece of art. The Alembic logo was designed by Bob Thomas who designed the Stealie, the dancing bears and the cover of Blue for Allah.

Peace,
Gil

WOW, looks expensive! The luthier I'm using has been just amaxing to work with. His costs are resonable and went through EVERYTHING with me. We both designed the body and I got to hand-pick the hardware and I'm even getting hand-wound custom pickups from Lindy Fralin. I'm sure that baby you got there sounds incredible. I'm so super stoked to hear mine....the anticipation is killin' me!!! BUT, I've waited over 10 years to have it built, so I just tell myself that it's just around the corner, now! If you wanna check out the website of the luthier I'm using, SB MacDonald, it's: www.customguitars.com .

Take care! Let's have a soundclip!!

thanks guys....ya i saved for 3 years for this one...alembic wants ALL the money up front! But,...it was very cool because the Wickershams want you to be totally happy with your instrument...Susan would call me and talk about the guitar going thru the various stages of being built. very professional dealing with alembic.

so the year and 3 months i waited were very much worth it as i look back on it.

btw congrats on your custom pappy...cant wait to see the finished piece!

Here's a shot of my project, Its gotten abit further since the bad pic.lol. (taken w/my treo) 1st shot at building a guitar, the next one will be perfect and this ones gonna be quite good! I've been laying out the electronics on a little board I built, I gutted my Roland GK3 and rewired to some new switches and buttons that will fit the guitar better. trying to get that, an effect loop & 3 p/u's etc... to all work nicely is a tedious task.

I love the alembic, I've played w/ a friends further (wolf type) and it's an amazing guitar. They take craftsmanship to another level.

Wow ...thats quite a nice little project you have there....send more pics!

the inlay was my little idea...i had another but it would have been WAY too much money.... i wanted to give a small greeting and the bolt was perfect in accordance with just letting the wood speak for itself....

first off congrads, I was also wondering, what are some of the custom features or specs, and maybe what was the thinking process that made you choose those. Once again congradulaions, and turn it up!!!
Punchy low end and bell like high end, I bet?
