When it doesn't fit anywhere else

Well.....
To use a WAY over-used phrase... What a long strange trip it's been.

For those that care.... I have been on the road for the last two weeks - El Paso, TX and Las Vegas.
The short version....
Same day notice to go to El Paso, found out at 2:30, I had to catch a flight at 6:00 to give a speech for a national convention in the industry for which I work. Yes... I got the full cavity search from my new very close friends at TSA... and ended up leaving my cell phone at the airport. Those guys must have heard "Franklins Tower" (My ring-tone) a hundred times before the battery gave up... Cool, my little dig at the man.

Las Vegas - I was able to get home, "touch the door knob" and catch a flight for Vegas to attend and speak at another convention. All was well until Friday. That was when my hotel caught aflame.. Yup, I was at the Monte Carlo... Off to the Luxor for another room. I recieved my gear around 3:00 AM Saturday after waiting for hours in a bar... I hate Las Vegas... Fast forward to new room at the Luxor. As you may know it only rains a few times a year in Vegas.... It rained Saturday night and my room leaked like a sieve.... I hate Las Vegas....
I took a guitar I built, my XT Live and all survived the fire, flood and travels....
Glad to be home my KIND friends. I speant half a day yesterday catching up on the posts I missed here, oh yeah.. I also caught up on that annoyance that pays me money every couple of weeks and now back in the swing of things....
In a weird sort of way, I missed my KIND friends.
GLAD to be back. Off to Portland for another speech around the end of February. I WILL find some KIND friends out there for some down time.
All is well!
PEACE,
Phil

Not me....
I was safe and sound in my "Cocoon of resistance". I was able to "wood-shed" more than I can at home. I kept out of the bars except in required situations, and generally behaved myself from the over-commercialized garbage that is Las Vegas.

Good things.... I met George Thorogood, nice guy, I had dinner at a Benihana with the guy that is the "Helper" on a show called "Hot Rods" I had no idea who he was but someone I was with knew of him. I sat behind Ms. Alabama on the way home. Bought a group of solders dinner at a pub at the New York New York. Really good feel good stuff. got to feel for those guys.

No "Fear and Loathing" for me.... I had work to do and was required to be coherent during the daylight hours....
Gotta love the "road".
PEACE,
Phil
