I recently picked up this shirt on ebay.

The seller described this shirt as:

"Vintage 1982 Grateful Dead Red Rocks David Lundquist Original Jersey.
Beautiful native American graphics. We have been told that Grateful Dead was asked and stopped printing this design due to the sacred Indian symbols."

Can anybody give me any more information on this shirt? Does anybody remember it from 1982? I checked and the company that made the shirt was in business back in 82 so at least that checks out.

I found David Lundquist's website Eagle Eye Studio. I wonder if he did any more native american shirt designs for the Dead around that time?

I'm sure some of the readers of this post have some great vintage grateful dead shirts tucked away, it would be great to see some of them in the forum or uploaded to band shirt archive. We are now donating $2 to Rock The Earth for every shirt uploaded.

Very cool shirt. I wish the ebay listing had better pictures so I could grab them and add them to the archive.

I'm avoiding grabbing picture of shirts directly from eBay for Band Shirt Archive. For BSA, I'm looking for higher resolution images so people can zoom in close to the shirt graphics and have a good look. When I built BSA, I made it easy upload shirts.

I'm sure those eBay photos don't do justice to that shirt you purchased. If you have a digital camera, snap a picture of the front and back and add the shirt. No need to resize.

I remember those shirts. They did sell them in 1982 at Red Rocks and the following shows at Santa Fe....
