I also think that Jerry's wardrobe choice- probably the rest of the band, too- was born of being on tour 1/3 of any given year for a couple of decades. There was probably an emphasis on minimal hassle, easy to pack, easy to wash at the laundromat, easy to replace, keep on truckin' clothing. Black Ts, black chinos or jeans, doesn't get much easier to care for.

I see Bobby getting lumped in with all the other "I don't give a crap what I look like" guys (Jerry-check, Phil-check, Billy-check, Mickey, Keith, Brent- check,check,check...), but he is the one that was notorious for late hotel checkouts because he had to blow dry his hair!

Plus, ya gotta keep in mind a lot of these pics are from the late 70's and the 80's, when it seemed NOBODY cared what they looked like... am I right???

Most junkies I know don't bathe that often as it is supposed to help the high.

That is the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard. It helps the high???? thats just stupid. Ive known a lot, way too many, junkies. Ive never, ever heard that once in my life, ever. If a junky doesn't shower it is becuase it isn't on his list of priorities, which is usually getting $ to get high.

Jerry had a lot of priorities: writing new songs (he was writing awesome songs all the way up until the end), doing tours, tryinbg new guitars/equiptment, doing tours with the dead and JGB, doing mad drugs, getting the drugs, etc., etc.,etc.

Im sure that his wardrobe and hygeine were the last priorities to him.
Jerry let his music and his guitar do all the talking. Whether he took a shower or not didn't matter.

Maybe that is why he was such a great musician, he truly dedicated his life to the music.
His whole career he was constantly improving his music, his gear and instruments. always experimenting.

His appearance certainly did not have anything to do with getting a better high or anythign like that.

It just wasn't on his list of important shit.
Look how nice his guitars and gear is. Look how much work he put into writing new songs and than tell me he had a "dont give a fuck attitude"
