and SPEAKING of 1977 shows....

11/6/77 Broome County Arena, Binghamton, NY

You get a Mexicali > Me & My Uncle (KILLER backwards transition....they jump right into Uncle!), one of those tasty 77 Dupreeses(?!) where Bobby & Donna harmonize with Jerry during the chorus and throw in the "oooooo"s on the last line of it and a pretty hot second set. One thing of note on this show, Jerry seems to take a tune or two to find himself. He has a modicum of trouble w/ the opener (1/2-Step) but slowly & surely finds his way.

They kinda stink it up in "Fire" though, not sure what happens there but for that tune all the wind goes out of the sails for some reason. The rest of the show is pretty decent.

Yeah, it seems that they all kinda get lost in their own little worlds there in FOTM....musta been something in the air...heheheh

Spain > GREAT SHOW!!! I'd LOVE to get a copy of THAT show!!! GREAT Scarlet > Fire...Sailor > Saint > Drums, right?

SS - would LOVE to get a copy of that Uptown Theater show...I have 12/3 and I agree w/ your assessment. Fine playing - no huge "moments" to speak of...but a decent show, tightnesswise.

Keep an eye out for the setlist for theCAUSE's show tomorrow night...I'll post it Sun or Mon....think Sailor > Saint, but weirder!!!

I have that 5/9/77 show....the night after the infamous Cornell show...sick show. AS IS the night BEFORE the Cornell show, 5/7/77 Boston Garden (I have that one too)...phenomenal first set... there's a 1/2-Step > Big River that is utterly colossal.

I'm into a good ol' fashioned mail trade, SS!!! LET'S DO IT!!! PM me for addys and lemme know what you want back! I've got some good GD, FZ and a couple of rare Beatles boots, too.

I love '77, but I am near totally burned out on that year. I find that my '77 faves over the years are the Fox Theatre shows and the one I listen to more than any other, 6-9-77 Winterland. I just keep going back to that show: nothing mind blowing, but evenly solid and fun through the whole show; a nice 1/2 step opener that I have jammed to many times and the long help>slipknot>franklin's, estimated>st stephen>NFA>drums>st stephen>terrapin>sugar mag is just great.

As far as 10-19-81, nice show for sure. I've never been a Brent fan, sorry. Also, there are some mixing and hiss issues which make my copy (same as the archive) a little less than great. Is there a better SBD mix out there?

TS to you... ... actually I meant a vine of about 7-8 people, with each person burning and then sending the discs on to the next one on the vine. But of course we could have multiple vines going on! I've got a few really choice FZ things too...

a vine sounds like fun. i am on the east coast in canada, so i think that involves more postage which kind of sucks, but there is another guy on here from ontario so it could work out.

right now i'm jamming to 12-13-80. really nice S>F>Playin'>Drums with guest drummers and vocalists doing chants for a while, so cool

10/20/2007 Phil Lesh & Friends w/ Trey

Killer show. I remember being there, the place went wild. It wasnt a capacity crowd but everyone was going nuts. The best thing ever was the cheers that came when Trey sang the line "Why dont you arrest me!"
And as an aside I read in a local Glens Falls paper recently that he had to do two days in jail cause he missed one, 1, drug court. They are fucking strict. . .

anyway killer second set!
