HAHAH!!! That's funny, TJedi!! I always HATED that name! Origin of how it came to be (why not, we're not busy @ work...):
So, it's our first gig. I've just met Michael, the lead guitarist the night before (who eventually became my musical partner of 10+ years and one of my very best friends). His brother Jon (whom I'd been teaching how to play guitar) & I were out visiting to sit in with Michael's old band from high school who were reuniting to play this party. Now they add the dynamic of me on electric rhythm and Jon on acoustic rhythm (although unbenounced to Jon, his playing was only being projected through the monitors, 'cause he kinda sucked... ), We're all onstage after rehearsing for the first time the night before and we're about to start when the keyboard player, Rich, asks, "What are we gonna call ourselves?" We're all suggesting this & that, then the drummer, Mike shouts out, "Double Dose!" Michael (guitar) goes right up to his mic & says, "Hey folks! We're Double Dose" before I could yell, "NOOOOOO!!!!" It stuck and so did we....hehe.
We were going to re-name that band after about 7 years of being together....it came down to 2 choices:
Suede Potato (I thought the logo possibilties were endless) and keeping Double Dose. We chose the latter.
