i was reading some Jackie Greene interview today and he was talking about how in alot of the dead songs him and phil discuss how they want to do them, shuffle or normal and what not.

I've never really figured out what the "shuffle" version of a song would be, i tried looking it all up, but all i was getting was the shuffle dance.

any help would be much appreciated.

Well, maybe he's referring to something like a blues shuffle, i dunno

most likely they are referring to straight eighths (eighth notes) versus swing eighths. Play eighth note pairs as triplets with the middle note deleted. Lots of blues songs use this shuffle.

As an alternative you can think of it as playing in 12/8 time, like "Truckin'".
