ok, sorry for wasting time here with another "best of ..."

I'm supposed to be off today and tomorrow for muslim holidays, since I'm working in Turkey, but I got called into work this morning, and I'm stuck here all day with jack to do. So, I've been trying to find a song that would make a good ringtone for my phone. This got me searching my music collection for the song with the best 20-30 seconds of music.

I've got 6000+ songs, and searching is wearing me out. it's gotta be loud enough to hear - no bass-only or drum-only riffs.

I've got the following possibilities so far:

cream - crossroads, or born under a bad sign
ledzep - d'yer mak'er, rock & roll, heartbreaker, since I've been loving you
miles davis - but not for now
Stones - start me up, jumpin' jack flash, honky tonk woman, brown sugar

I've already used:
allmans - blue sky
GNR - sweet child of mine
band of gypsies - power to love

any help here? any songs with a rocking intro?

For what it's worth...
My ringtone is Franklin's Tower.
I "Cut up" a Mp3 and it starts with "In another time...." and goes through to "Roll away" a couple of times.
Pretty cool to check the reactions when my phone rings in public. One can spot a "Head" from a mile away, then exchange the "Knowing Nod" from across the aisle at the grocery...
Even better, I get the "What the hell" look from people that look like I did 25 years ago.
It's fun to keep them guessing...

sweet. There's so many tunes that I would love to use a ringtones, but just not the first 20-30 seconds. If I could "cut" out the bits i want that would be great. share the knowledge here. How do you cut up MP3's?

My advisor at school as Scarlet Begonias as his ringtone. Needless to say, I floored the first time it rang in front of me.

'bout how about the Phil's roll into the Other One as ring tone. Just play the role over and over again. I recommend TOO from Dick's Picks 18. Kills me every time.

well, it seems like all i do in Turkey is work... 14-hour shift so far and still going. I work on a power plant here. You probably don't know, but the energy sector is a 24-hour beast that doesn't sleep. People get pissed when you cut off their electricity, so we gotta keep thing running. when problems come up, you stay 'til it's fixed.

Yeah, I'm American. Boston area - actually proud to say that these days, with the Sox, Pats, and Celts all kickin' ass. Turkey's awesome. I could write tons about the good parts of this country, but I'll summarize like this: great beaches, fantastic climate, beautiful women, and the best food in the world! Who could ask for anything more??

Only bad part is that they are actually winning the war on drugs here, so you gotta steer way clear of that shit. They've come a long way since the days of Midnight Express, but I think the message is clear: mess with drugs, and we'll make you disappear.

Thanks for the suggestion on tracks. Shakedown would be a great choice, if I had it... only dead studio albums i have are aoxomoxoa and american beauty. i've been meaning to pick up wake of the flood and shakedown. maybe next trip back to America.
