this is a crude attempt at something like virtual reality when in reality it is virtualy the gayest game for fags ever...all those songs suck my nuts, and its a watse of time and money, but so are all video games unless your 9 years old or a grown up virgin

i love guitar hero. first time i payed it was over at my buds house like 3 months ago. and at first it looked gay, but i played it and it is so addicting

real guitar is better, i like playin it more, but sometimes i enjoy waistin time just playin gitar, its fun. i dont like all the music on it but it got good stuff too

I just played for the first time about 4 days ago and Im hooked. I have II and III and they both have some good songs. Sweet Child O Mine, Sunshine Of Your Love, Slow Ride, Paint It Black, Welcome To The Jungle, Free Bird, War Pigs, Jessica. All great songs if you ask me. And its fun as hell to try the Metal songs on expert haha

You guys are missing the point entirely says I. The point (at least from an experienced guitarist's perspective) to find immense humor in the Spinal Tap-like onscreen antics fumbling of songs and licks and abject failure to perform in front of a ravenous yet unforgiving audience.

You sit and wring that infernal controller's neck pitifully on songs you know you'd at least be able to fake your way through on a real guitar... but in GHero, there IS NO improvisation or fakery! You either execute as scripted or you fail miserably. And when you fail, it is HILARIOUS!!! The controller AND the "pseudo"-tab that you are supposed to follow is TOTALLY counter-intuitive in relation with the music to anyone who knows how to play an actual guitar, so the better and more instinctive of a guitarist you are, the MORE you will miss all kinds of cues and lay- no, make that SPRAY clams everywhere ...as the crowd's initial cheering dies down, then begins to grumble and then boo... meanwhile I'm laughing so hard I've got tears streaming down my face.

Try the Van Halen "You Really Got Me" on GH2 and if you don't laugh, well then I'm sorry. I got hooked for about 2 hours one day while visiting my sis-in-law.

As a real game that I would be genuinely, geekishly interested in, it isn't my type. Truth be told, I've been a Laser Squad Nemesis addict for about 4 years. A turn-based 2-player tactical game where 10-second turns get passed back and forth through a server, and you start with 30 days on your clock (Chess-paced might be an apt description)... I don't like to have to work my thumbs and fingers on a controller frantically and constantly; with turn-based, you can sit and play a real guitar and and contemplate your next move at the same time!

dude videogames used to be just dungeons and dragons geekyness, but it's made serious evolution.

this last month i've played videogames almost constantly, and i thought to myself "this is a media form that could seriously overtake cinema". games aren't just about ninja pirates battling ponies anymore, alot of them have cohesive thought provoking plots.

i do agree that games consume alot of time, but no moreso than any season of a tv show, and i enjoy having a control over the story rather than just watch it unfold.

hopefully people will be able to realize that games have enormous potential as a story telling medium and will stop regarding them as kids shit. however either way nothings gonna stop me from playing mass effect
