Yo Jackr guess you are from the New England area?
Great music up there.People love music up there.
Yeah got his new album (2006?)and it talks about some spiritual thingy he went thru or something;might say that on the album he was retiring.Somewhere,cant remember.
I know some peps up in New Hampshire that are down with the blues scene in Boston. I might have heard it then.
Its a decent cd, with the Earl paying homage to his guitar heros.

I am from the NY area and moved to Florida about 10 years ago.

Ronnie used to come down often to play.

I dont have the new album. I have all the old ones. I still find it hard to believe.

I hate when great players retire. I remember when David Bromberg retired to go make guitars. I dont know what ever became of that.

Here's a website with a good lesson on the Texas shuffle thing which may help you out. Go to www.dolphinstreet.com - the guy is a Canuckistanian that posts video lessons, accessible for free. He has some really good stuff on there. Also a good lesson on Mary Had a Little Lamb, the SRV version of Superstitious, lots of other things.

He's a good teacher, as well - the videos are clearly presented, with slowed down versions, he takes the time to explain what he's doing and why, etc. Give it a look.

Yes I met and hung with him many times. It was easy to do when you see shows that only have 20 people!
