Come check out The JFP (http://www.thejfp.com/) this Friday, November 9th, at Fadeley's Pub in Patchogue, NY. Showtime is 10:00PM and as usual, we'll be going all night with multiple sets.
The JFP covers the music of Jerry Garcia in his various configurations when he wasn't playing with The Grateful Dead. We're drawing on tunes from his stints with Merl Saunders, Legion of Mary and The Jerry Garcia Band.
We're currently digging into some early Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders nuggets. Recent sets have seen the emergence of He Ain't Give You None, Russian Lullaby, Positively 4th Street and Stir It Up, plus many more.
"We cover some of the greatest songs of all time.", says Jason Ferguson, guitarist and vocalist for the JFP. "And though we pay heavy homage to Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders in the way we arrange our material, it's really tough to pin us down to any one style. It's not hard to describe what we're actually doing, I say first and foremost, we're a rock & roll band."
