Its probally better if you are already familiar with the tunes.'Cause theres no tab.
At the start he says to take these licks to band practice or something.He knows what up.We're just a bunch of hounds.
In another thread someone said he forgets parts on the 1st dvd.Found something like that on Scarlet;says hes gonna show the studio and live intro;he only shows the studio one in detail.He does play the live intro at other spots.
Another wanted to know if there was any theory.Only a little,from what I saw.He talks about scales for the solo to Eyes.
The lack of tab hurts on St.Stephen.The stop and start the dvd thing gets old quick.
I love his Bob chords on all the songs.
His Jerry stuff is good.Sounds like '73 type vibe.
Gonna sit with it tonight.

cubinis is very cool dead cover band. I love bands that have a "brent" in them. It's cool to hear people try and sing like him. That's why DSO now just isn't the same. Even though rob barraco is sweet!

Rob barraco does a frikkin awesome Brent I dont know what your talkin about. I saw him do Far From Me and I was shocked and amazed at how close he got to Brent considering Brents voice was pretty unique. As for the guy that said he used Europe 72 for China. Thats because that basically was their studio album for those songs. So of course he would use that one considering there isnt an actual studio version for them. And for some reason I just dont like the guy lol. Dont know what it is but I have the first and just didnt really like him. And yes rewinding got old reallllly fast with that first one. I mean yes as some say showing the tab is kind of a hindrance but at the same time it would make alot of sense with a commercial product like that to have tab. Oh and one last thing. No he doesnt really touch on theory at all. Once in a while he will say Oh I use E pentatonics for this part. But other than that, which is rare in itself, there's nothin. I mean the little he does tell you can already be found here.

Blob, Chinacat came out on Aoxomoxxa.Studio.I'm glad he used the Europe 72 one 'cause I like that ones intro and solo alot.
I like his Bob stuff alot.
The Jerry stuff too.
Hes not too flashy ,but its a an instructional video.

I dunno he just seems kinda fake. Im bein cynical of course but anyways. I never owned Aox so yeah that would explain it I guess. Never even heard a studio China. Is it pretty straight forward in comparison with live versions? Maybe he used the live one then because maybe the studio doesnt have much to go by?

studio China does zero for me.
The real version is the Europe 72 in my mind.So you are right about that.
I think its a good vid.I changed my Scarlet end thing around and got some different takes on Eyes.
Maybe I like it 'cause I'm in between bands now and need to stay occupied.
Looks like hes buzzed.
I dunno why you dont like him.Maybe its a "east" coast "west" coast thing.

Yeah man Im just waitin for responses from some of the guys that have already recorded so I know what I need to get or tweak or w/e. How is the Saturday Night on there? Does he really breakdown all of Jerrys chords well? And what about Playin'? Does he get into the spacier stuff? Or just the "plain as day" stuff?

Ya know what would be a good Idea?
If one of the guys w/ a band could make backing tracks to jam to.
I used to record my band w/a digital 16 track.Wish I hadnt cleaned out the memory 'cause that would be cool to jam to.
Maybe if a band records a practice that way and then turns down the guitar track,it would work.
Then the band could post the tracks on Myspace and charge a buck a download.
Always never in tune with bootlegs and older stuff.
Anyone think this is possible?
Or is this just a ?
