Does anyone here use one? Or have used one? I like the sound but i don't want a massive thing to carry around, what are some alternatives?

Our keyboardist Andrew has a B-3+Leslie rig, and luckily the club we play tonight has their own, so all he needs to bring is his Korg Triton.

For lighter alternatives there's RotoSound rack gear, but for a pedal what I would highly recommend is a DLS RotoSim. It gives a high degree of control over speeds and how fast it ramps between fast and slow, etc.

I use a P-3 with a Roland VK-7 electronic organ---next best thing to the B-3 and leslie combo.....way lighter and cheaper too----but, nothing beats the real deal. You can probably see some pics of my rig and also hear how it sounds if you go to theCause website.

I want to try running vocals through a leslie like Jerry in Anthem of the sun.

Mesa Boogie makes a rotating speaker cab, I can't vouch for it though. Also I know Fender had one with a baffle that gave an approximation of the effect in the old days.

You are very right, Django. However about a year ago I read a discussion about the Fender vs. Mesa and one was real good and the other was poor. But I can't remember which was which... Hmmm... Gotta search!

d'oh... Motion-Sound is what I meant when I said "Roto-Sound"... got the name mixed up with the DLS Roto-Sim pedal.
