Hey Captain Trips, Funny you should say that. Even though our male singer replied to our ad for a singer for a Dead tribute band, he had never really listened to them. He's been working real hard and under the tutelage of our female singer he's been developing nicely. Those recordings are from one of our earliest rehearsals months ago.

Man, I hate when people do that, though! Personally, from a "strictly music business" POV, I would make the effort to at least listen to some songs before going into an audition like that. It is very cool that it is working out for your band. Just goes to show that as long as someone has the skills and is willing to learn, it can work!

Has the guy developed an actual liking for the music, or is he a strictly biz kind of guy?

These set lists are interesting.
I'm wondering, what do you Jerry Guys out there do when the Keyboard or Bass (think Eyes) are taking their solo's?
I gotta guy in one group, who, untill told otherwise, thought my solo was a good time for him to do some single note riffing.
Go figer?
If there is another person playing rhythm (keys, guitar), I put my bar down and completely lay out if I'm on pedal steel, or try to play something tasteful yet next to nothing if on guitar.
What do you guys do?

Or comp the rhythm ala Jerry.
Like Red Rooster behind Brent or Bob.
Chromatic lead ins and uptown chords.
I like to do Sugaree rhythm in Jerry intro mode.
Dont have much exp. playing with keys let alone some tasty pedal steel
