i was talking the other day with a friend, and we were trying to figure out "the best jerry solo", now of course this is probably impossible, but still brought back to memory some good songs. the first one that popped into my head, for whatever reason, was his playing in the "I Know You Rider" off the Grateful Dead Movie Soundtrack. i love that one. ya i know, there are a million more, so thats why i'm posting it here, what do you people think?

The Hard to Handle on Fallout from the Phil Zone. The very definition of "hot jam."

You really think that one is one of the best? IKYR that is. Id put it toward the bottom for me lol. But to each his own. As for the H2H id have no choice but to go with 8-6-71. That jam just does it for me! 12-27-77 Peggy-O That solo always does it for me as well. 2-3-78 TLEO, 9-11-73 China Rider, Dead Movie Morning Dew, 9-7-73 Eyes, Bertha 2-3-78, Music Never stopped 4-21-78 *i think..might be 4-12. Those are all excellent. So many more though. I was thinkin about makin a list of my favorite version(s) of every song. Maybe ill get around to that. When I do I suppose I can post it up.

I've heard it many times, but recently I really listened to Jerry on Easy Wind from Workingman's Dead. It just blew me away!

Solo from Peggy-O 5-9-77
Beautiful Jam - 2-18-71
Solo from Sing Me Back Home - 8-27-72
Solo from Scarlet Begonias - 11-9-77

just a few:

-end of Comes a Time 5/9/77
-Hard to Handle 8/6/71
-Death Dont Have No Mercy 10/9/89

I picked those because those are really fantastic versions of rarer songs

to pick a favorite Jerry solo on a song like Jack straw, I Know You Rider or NFA would be impossible, every version has something great about it

It's hard to pick one, but I always liked the 71-74 Losers and Sugar Mags.
