Yes you have a very good amp and guitar .... you should be able to get some pretty nice tones without pedals, I play a Strat thru a Blues Junior cause I like to be able to play loud without being loud ... 15 watts and I can crank it at almost any venue ... I put a Boss EQ in front of my amp and use it for solo boosts and it rips pretty nicely, more of an over driven tone, if your looking for really nasty have you tried the MXR stuff?
