i.e. Im listening to Dark Star from 9/21/72, most of it sounds like typical 72 dark star ish, but when you get into that territory of uncovered ground it really makes the previous 25 minutes you just listened to completely worth it. Im referring to that last country jam right before Morning Dew, its fucking fantastic. Most people I think would love the Dead if they just had some patience, when I first started to really listen to them I was used to 3-5 min songs. But as time progressed, I opened up my mind, I opened up my ears and the music became sublime

I find the best way to make it through the waiting period (when at home), is to have guitar in hand and to play along the entire time.
Last night I played along with the Dark Star from View From the Vault II, got to see Vince caught on camera breaking to light up a smoke with a "whoa, these guys are out there" look on his face... also found a long section with pretty good close-ups of Jer's fingers soloing, which is generally the reason I like to play along with the vids... lots of instructional value to be had.
At work I usually stream soundboards from Archive on break, and wish there was a FF feature to get from solo to solo.
