What is the situation with Archive.org as we speak. How come some shows can be downloaded song for song and some not, I was wondering why it had changed and what is determining which shows can and can not be downloaded song for song?

You didn't hear it from me but if you go to the Archive FAQ and read up on how to FTP to the site.

You can still access 'uhm' THOSE controversial recordings.
