Right now I'm listening to Hundred Year Hall, man the boy's really are smokin'. I have only ever heard Europe '72 from the Europe tour and HYH really blows it out of the water. Also does anyone own the Hundred Year Hall Songbook? I'm contemplating buying it used and I'm wondering if it's worth it. Thanks.

If you dig 100 yr. hall and Europe 72 then Steppin Out with the Grateful Dead is a must for you...

And "Rockin' the Rhein". I'm waiting for yet another Europe '72 release...there is that much great stuff! Although, with Rhino in charge of the Vault my confidence for much of anything is dwindling rapidly. I hope these douchebags can at least manage to put together a decent release for the upcoming holidays. Sigh.

Hundred year hall is great, but as far as releases from europe even though its a compilation I still like steppin out with dead better.

I have it.Its pretty good. Not all the transcriptions are from the show. Some are the studio cuts.I think Jdarks mentions the book for solos to I Know You Rider

Yeah solo's to "I Know You Rider" are what I'm looking for. "Goin' Down The Road" and "Me & My Uncle" also.

72 bucks is really steep man, I rember at one point, Like spring 2004 or so I was trying to get this and ladies and gentleman.... and they were both pretty steep, and scarce. They must have done another run because the prices came down a bit after that.

I love 71-74 dead, esp. 72, but I don't really like the Steppin Out set, it has its moments but overall its not the first one I grab.

You should try getting you hands on the Radio Luxembrug (sp?) bootleg - 5/16/72. Great setlist, some good banter and awsome sound qaulity. I can get you a copy for B&P, but it used to be on GDLive.com back in the day, don't even know if thats still up.

i don't recommend buying the tab book for HYH. it's really not that great. if you have the blue and red tab books then you have all the tabs except for Jack Straw, and Big Railroad Blues. the Lovelight and Other One in HYH book are about useless, and if i remember right, they list ad lib, or freely jam etc as part of the song. as an owner of almost every dead tab book out there, HYH is not one of the best. The red and blue books with tab are the best ones (in my opinion). The blue book has alot of the american beauty and workingman's dead, and the blue book has more live stuff like Skullfuck, and touch of grey, st stephen, bertha. . .

hope this helps, peace, michael
