When it doesn't fit anywhere else

If you get knocked out of tune, how long does it really take to fix?

Using digital tuners for so much of my early bass playing really hurt my ear. Now I'll only use them if every string is knocked completely out of tune and I'm not around a Piano or the likes. Or if I'm putting strings on

Besides, tuning your guitar midsong makes you look professional :P

I dig it! I always wished electric guitar had on-board tuners like many acoustics do now.

The new Fender VG Strat takes it a step further and you can completely change the tuning with the turn of a knob.

To gimmicky for me but it is sort of cool.

Tune function rotary control lets you choose between Normal regular tuning, Drop D, Open G, DADGAD, Baritone/Low B, and 12 string.

Odd...

The Gibson changes tuning via a mechanical mechanism
The Fender changes tuning via a processor

So does the fender actually change the tension of the strings to change tuning. Or is it a midi (ish) thing where it digitaly makes it sound like open G tuning.

I wonder if it is weird for the player when the sound is far different than the feeling of the string would suggest.
