Wow, no one mentioned "The Other One" on DP18? One of the most hair raising, spine tingling Dead moments ever. China/rider from DP12...pure bliss. And am I the only one that absolutely loves the shit outta DP2?

Try the Dew from 2-24-74, 9-11-73, 69 Fillmore Boxset. All much better than that Dew. I still am not seein what makes that Dew so great. The Jack Straw from there though. Thats a different story. Love those fast runs.
yeah I have those, Ill be honest, I find the first 5 minutes of the Barton Dew to be weak, the 1st solo isnt that strong (dp 19 destroys that one) but the vocals are solid. but there has never been a dew with an ending jam that strong, its pretty undisputable imo, I listen to that Dew simply for that

Since you are taliking about DP3, what about the freakin' DEW on there? Maybe not as good as Cornell but pretty damn close to as good.

Love that DP3 Dew, maybe my favorite. Not nearly as intense as Cornell but more sincere IMO. Nice Wharf Rat also.

**EDIT
I fucked up, I was thinking of the DEW on DP7 above, got my DP's mixed up. DP3 singing is definently more sincere than Cornell IMO.

Jerry's shaping of notes on DP7 Dew makes it my favorite.
There's that "Oh Shit!!!" moment at 11:30 on DP7 DEW. You know where the band and crowd all at once realize they just had a mind meld magical moment and the jammin kind goes off track for a bit. Gotta love Morning Dew.

**edit Weir and Keith kickass on that DP7 dew. Ok enough off topic

Over here, they are pretty expensive since more often than not they have to be imported from the U.S., so I go for those from the periods that I'm most interested in, like 1969-71, '77 (#10 is a big favorite), and there's some cool stuff from '78 (DP18) '79 (DP5, that one rocks) and '81 (DP13). The Scarlet/Fire that is as a ghost track on CD 2 of #13 might be the most beautiful I've heard so far. Right now I'm waiting for #3, 4 and 16 to arrive. I think there are some treasures on every Dick's Pick, Dick sure must have picked them for some good reason.

Don't see DP6 listed. Le\istening to Disc 1 now. Must be one of the best first sets of the 80's. Very enthusiastic playing. Brent's on. Great Althea.

I have DP6, just forgot to mention it. I was a bit sceptical because I've read a couple of bad reviews on Amazon, but ordered it anyway. Well maybe in the first set Jerry's singing suffers a bit at times, but apart from that, it's very interesting. Great guitar parts, and there's Brent with his cool organ sounds, my favorite GD keyboardist. It definitely has its highlights (Althea, as you said, and CD3 is a quite trippy combination. It's not "polished" but has a rough rockin' overall sound, which I like a lot.
Plus, it was October 14, 1983, my 18th Birthday! Wish I could have been there to celebrate it...

12 has, (at least from what I've heard of the rest of DP's) some of the greatest jamming going on,especially disc 1 & 2

What about that Comes A Time from DP29??? Best version of that song hands down. As for DP18 what about that They Love Each Other?

As said that Darkstar>Jam on 4 is sick as hell. That jam is just fuckin awesome period!

DP15 Not Fade Away and Halfstep

DP 18 TLEO, TMNS, Bertha

DP29 Dire Wolf, LLR, Comes A Time, Passenger

DP14? maybe 12? China Rider that starts with a jam at the beginning of China. Absolutely wonderful!! Also I think its from the same one but there is a fast TLEO thats awesome

DP2? Cold Jordan

DP36 Black Peter, and everything on that one really

Not a DP but figured Id throw it out there. Rockin the Rhein: Dark Star> M&MU> Dark Star and also the Mr. Charlie from that are incredible. Love the jam from that Charlie.

Theres plenty of others but cant think of anything.

Edit: The fast TLEO is from DP19 actually
