I just wanted to check the barometer of this site, Do we all agree a bad Phil show is still better than the best DSO show, I mean he is and was one of the most innovative bass players and helped steer the ship we know as The Grateful Dead

as long as he keeps set lists like the recent ones i've seen, there is no such "bad show". , but to answer your question, yes i would have to agree with you and your point made.

Christ, another DSO thread. Here we go...yet again.

I also want to point out i think DSO is a great band band as well. I have no gripe with any band that enjoys playing entire sets dedicated to Grateful Dead songs. sounds like a great and fun plan to me.

Gee Bo, I don't want to bash anyone or anything, I am just trying to understand who my fellow posters are, and where they are coming from, ya see, I believe all this post Jerry music is obscuring and redefining what the dead were , for instance if all the respondees said DSO blows Phil away, I guess that would tell us all something wouldn't it? It would tell me to go away, because I feel the DEAD were it, Jerry was it! I am so sorry to burden this site with this topic, just pass on it guys if it bothers you and post a tab of FOTD and explain why it is really in the key of C obsurdian and not G major

Jeez, what kind of a poll is this!

Comparing a tribute band to a member of the original band that they cover!!

would you rather drink wine or beer, they both get you drunk. would you rather have cake or pie, they are both sweet and taste good.

Phil is the man, but dso is great for what they do and who they are

Actually it's a pretty good question. The reason being
that DSO are mighty good at what they do and most
people have to agree that Phil isn't as good as The
Dead were during their peak period. You can't prefer
Phil & Friends because of how good Phil was, if he
sucks now. I'm not saying he is, but you have to
compare how good they are at this moment. I'd still
see Phil if I could, but maybe it's all just nostalgia?

Who is that supposed to be sucking Phil in that pic?

"You're a funny guy, but looks aren't everything!"

Do you reckon Beatles fans question whether The Bootleg Beatles put on a better show than Macca?

Isn't there a DSO forum out there somewhere!?

Call me crazy but this is a Dead forum that supports anything Dead or closely Dead-related. Therefore I see no problem with this post. If he posted this in a DSO forum then someone could easily just as well say "Isnt there a Dead forum out there somewhere?"

And Ive never seen P&F. Saw DSO a few times and I think they're great. I might be seein P&F in November at Nokia though so Ill have an opinion then. The songs Ive downloaded of Phil I liked though.

Oh and yes that Signature is pretty stupid. Kinda disgraceful to Phil.

I've no problem with the talk of DSO on here, just wondered if there was a forum of their's out there.

I do think the question at the core of this thread is a rather silly one. But I've made that clear already. :-)

unless the q got back together i would go see DSO. However, as of right now they aren't touring in my area at the same time so both it is...answered the question very simple, no questioning the importance of the question or why (what is this a philosophy forum?)
