Glad I could help, but don't thank me, thank Scott @ http://www.strangedesign.org - he led me there. Great site, as is the HT site. Some really good, high-quality equiptment being made there, and the best of the best are using it now - Bobby, Herring, Kimock, and many more, and their cables are hand -made by Brian Brown, Trey's guitar tech currently on tour w/ Tom Petty.

I haven't been on the HT site for a while. I actually made an HT style cabinet back in the late 70's. In the mid 90s, I traded one of my Marshal cabinets for a pair of E-120s and mounted them in the cabinet which I still use today. However, it's quite beat up now and time for a replacement. I'll brobably build another one.

As far as the Y cable, I'm using a Monster stereo Y cord but I have 3 cables hanging from my Further. Looks like I'm on life support or something. I'd like to tidy things up a bit with some of those new HT cables...

Yeah, here's the deal, and I am open for advice. My guitar is an Alembic Tribute and has the effects loop in there. It's not Jerry's wiring but still is a cool feature. Last spring, I picked up a 1970 (I think) Ibanez UE-400. It has an effects loop that I take out to and back in from my pedal board. So, I really don't need the effects loop in the guitar, but would like to as it's nice to control volume and tone from the guitar. I used to just have the pedal board and I went out of the guitar loop in and out of the pedal board, and then back into the guitar. Here's my question: If i were to go Guitar Effect Loop out > input on UE-400 >UE 400 out to pedal board > pedal board back into UE-400, how would I go back to the guitar? UE-400 main output? The only two outputs on a UE-400 are "Main Output" and Stereo Output. It would make sense to me. Does that sound right to you?

Yes - that's exactly what you'd do. One big thing that you are going to gain by dong this is that your effects won't be affected by the volume changing on your guitar. take your envelope filter for example - they are notoriously sensitive to any change of input volume. Well, not anymore when you use the loop from your guitar. Now you can crank it up and down all you want and your elvelope will sound identical at all volumes. All your other effects will do likewise as well.



BTW - I think you guys sound great. I used to play in the CO area before I moved out east in 2000. Too bad you guys weren't around then!

Before HT started marketing their version of that box - I made one for myself - they are absurdly easy to do. There are no electronic components in it at all - it's just a matter or wiring a few connectors together. So, for minimal soldering skills you can put one together in no time for about $10 in parts and it would be electronically identical to the HT box.

One thing that I did different on mine - as well as the regular stereo in > send/return jacks I put in an extra jack on either end of the box and wired them straight together - just as a pass-through. Here's why...

When you use the HT box to split your stereo cable, your regualar mono output cable from your guitar would have to be significantly longer to make it to your amp. So - it kind of makes for a messy configuration.

My cable plugs are the same length from my guitar to my "breakout" box - keeping it neat and organized. from the box I run another cable as my output to my amp.

If anyone wants a diagram of how to wire this up let me know - I'd be happy to do one up and post it.
