My honest opinion. I dont like the vocals. But I like the instrumental side of the band. And that New Speedway Boogie intro sounds exactly like a 73' Bird Song hehe.

Hey guys, thanks for the honest reviews. That's why I put them up there. An independent review is often the best. I know what you mean on the vocals. This place we played was like many others, a mid sized venue where the sound guy had to crank the vocals so the crowd could hear them. But then the soundboard came out with vocals being WAY over the top. We having a guy take a soundboard from Mishawaka (CO) and master it. I'll throw that one out when we get it.

Thanks andpeace to all,

Gil

Hey Gil - do you not use your FX bypass jack? Saw a pic on the myspace page and noticed you only had one chord coming out of it. Just wondering. I had the FX bypass installed in my Resurrection Hollowbody (T-minus 1 week!) and got the Hard Truckers Y-Junction Box to take the place of a pesky Y-chord instead. I talked about it on another thread, but if you want more info, just ask!

Hey Shake,
Yeah, here's the deal, and I am open for advice. My guitar is an Alembic Tribute and has the effects loop in there. It's not Jerry's wiring but still is a cool feature. Last spring, I picked up a 1970 (I think) Ibanez UE-400. It has an effects loop that I take out to and back in from my pedal board. So, I really don't need the effects loop in the guitar, but would like to as it's nice to control volume and tone from the guitar. I used to just have the pedal board and I went out of the guitar loop in and out of the pedal board, and then back into the guitar. Here's my question: If i were to go Guitar Effect Loop out > input on UE-400 >UE 400 out to pedal board > pedal board back into UE-400, how would I go back to the guitar? UE-400 main output? The only two outputs on a UE-400 are "Main Output" and Stereo Output. It would make sense to me. Does that sound right to you?

Peace,

Gil

Well, that sounds like it might be a little repetive, though I'm not sure - you could always trial & error it. Don't know anything about the UE-400, so I really can't tell you how it'd work.

But - Go to http://www.hardtruckers.com, click on the "guitar cables" tab and go to the bottom of that page - that's where you'll find info on the Y-Junction Box, and here's a pic of it that Glenn sent me:

Basically, you'd have to order this and get yourself a Stereo instrument cable, which they also make & sell (hand-made by Brian Brown, Trey's guitar tech, so you know they're high quality). Use the stereo cable to go from the FX jack to the Input of the Y-Box. The "Tip" goes to the front of your FX chain, and the "Ring" goes to the back end of the FX chain. And I agree, being able to REALLY use your tone & volume on the guitar is a big advantage. When my guitar arrives next week or so, I'll test mine out and let you know what I think after I've had a chance to fool around with it.

Yeah, I think I'll try it and see what happens. At least there's nothing that could EXPLODE!!! The Hardtruckers box....got one about 3 months ago. Very nice, well made, and cool looking! I also got a guitar cable from them! Nice stuff, wish i could afford more!

Peace,

Gil

As David Grisman said in Grateful Dawg, the only thing worse than one banjo is two banjos. :)
