Has any one got any neat scales and/or licks they want to share with me? I mostly play a rythm-type-acoustic style and want to get better at the other side of guitar playing.
You didn't really give any idea if you've already made any progress with scales but I'll assume you haven't. If you know this stuff already, then never mind. Someone else may get something out of it.
I'd start with pentatonic major and blues scales. The "no wrong note" scales are a fun place to start.
Try A major pent.- 2 octaves
e---------------2-5-
b------------2-5-
g---------2-4-
d------2-4---
a-0-2-4--------
Try A blues (minor) pent.- 2 octaves
e-------------0-3-5--
b----------1-3---
g-------0-2---
d----0-2-----
a-0-3---------
There are a bunch of different ways to finger these scales. Experiment up and down the neck.
Due to the no wrong note nature of these scales you may be able to make some headway rather quickly.
