oh woah seriously?
i do not think panic is better. I greatly agree that old cheese is way superior. They laid back and let it grooveThe mule are not it they have consitant good shows and a good share of great shows even. But they are not it. None of these bands are. Not like the grateful dead were it, or the allman brothers, or even some of the old greats. the really old greats, they did not get 70,000 people shows, but I have heard lionel hampton shows from before I was born. And charlie parker. that shit was hot man, early cheese had that flavor and they tried to go big. Was not last year the go big or go home tour? I know vendors who lost the farm on that tour. something did change of course some people will like it more. The jamband sceane masses are going to dig it. it is the older ones who tend to enjoy "the days" I can definately feel it in early shows. Sometimes it feels like warren is trying too hard and the band is trying too hard. It is of course when they are not paying attention and let go that you see brilliance and genius sometimes. Its hard to let go when people pay 42.50 for a ticket. Anyone ever heard herb alpert and the tijuana brass sro? there is a show i would have like to have been to. My dad used to have an old Tito Puente where I think he played the vibes. Damn whom ever WAS playing the vibes felt it deep. it was not like anything I have ever heard him put out. and my dad's collection was very complex. I never really heard much radio music until I got my own radio around 1968... i just never occured to me.. heh. The feeling of knowing the song, and grooving.,... you just don;t know what it is, and where am I feeling that you can be put in, I just don't see it out there. Sure moe might have a 2 hours song, but I really wonder if THEY know where they are.
The panic are the panic. they are like horror movies and liquorice. you either really really like it or you do not. And I care for neither. They have some great tunes that i have heard. Just not my groove live.
lotta info i guess.

I can't even fathom Panic being better than Cheese in my eyes ... different strokes for different folks .... thats why we all pay for our own tickets ... but Panic to me is just one big Jimmy Herring solo with no dynamics, just blowing from start to finish
Jimmy Herring is the ONLY good thing about WSP.
I wish he'd stop wasting his time with them and go back and play with Bobby Rodgers. WSP are plain boring. Inane, unimaginitive, banal songs. Lead singer has the most irritating voice and all the live stuff I've heard he sings flat.
