When it doesn't fit anywhere else

i'm poor as hell and i entirely expected to pay $20 for tickets and see phil 3 times and live a happy life. unfortunately ticket bastard informed me today phil's charging $50, and right over the price is a pic of phil smirking about how he's going to take my money. now people can rant and rave all they want about how bobs a jerk for not allowing tape distrubution, but at least bob only charges me $20 to groove. i understand phil has kids to put through college but i have me to put through college. who does he think he is charging so much for tickets, the rolling stones?!?!

phil, :x

but phil is way better than bobby(at least in phils friends vs ratdog). i agree 50 bucks is a bit much, but totally worth it imo.

and no sax!

There are no $20 tickets when Bobby plays in the city.

Yeah 20 bucks aint happenin man. Hell you pay like 30 to see DSO so of course your gonna pay more for ratdog or phil.

I saw dso this year for 12 and ratdog 25. Maybe virginia tickets are a little lower since it is not a big city and they never sell out. but I understand his frustration. I am going to the phil and friend show anyway. (That may mean the cable bill is not getting paid.)

$50 sounds high, but seeing live music is so important...

Phil's not going to too many cities on this tour...

15 dollar tickets are a BIG reality if you live in the hills west of Denver .. in the past few months I have seen the following musicians for exactly 15 bucks ... Billy Nershi, Jeff Austin, Larry Keel, among others .... Billy and Jeff live in my hood and they play The Stage Stop regularly, sometimes together !!! and they never charge more than 15 bucks !!! I would rather see Billy and Jeff at The Stage Stop with 100 of my neighbors that pay 50 and see anybody anywhere !!!!!!!!!!!! If any of you are ever in Colorado you need to make it a point to check out this venue, The Stage Stop in Rollinsville, next weekend heres the line up .... Drew Emmitt Band, Great AMerican Taxi, Wayward Sons, Cornmeal, Vince Herman & Friends( BEn Dave and Jeff from Yonder) and guess what 15 bucks !!!!!!! And I live right down the road if you need a place to crash, it's a rough drive down the hill !!!!

i would hope they wouldn't be 40-50! i think jerry would have more common sense than to rob his fans like that. but then again if tickets in the ninties had been really expensive they might've been allowed a touring break cause the overhead would've been payed for. complicated matter but in the end i guess i'd pay 40-50$ a show for a living jerry. hell i'd pay $200 for a jgb show about now

Well, I agree with you, but it is what it is, and it ain't goin' away or gettin' any cheaper.

I saw Bobby & Keller this summer for $50 (after ticketbastard fees, taxes, & the like), but saw Roger Waters last year for around $80, and I thought that was worth it. Wow....writing that sounded strange. And the Stones/Bruce Springsteen/The Police/any big act will cost you AT LEAST $75, if not $100 for nosebleed seats.

But anyways - I agree that $50 is a lot for Phil. $40 would be more reasonable, but you know what? I'm still going to at least 2 shows, because I love the music and the good time I have there. Hope you can make it to the show in your area though man! Hey, go around collecting bottles for AAU Soccer....that's what we did when we were poor, and I never even played soccer!

EDIT: and if the Dead were still touring, it wouldn't surprise me if tickets were at least $60 a pop. They'd be HUGE.

yeah the $$ sux... I'd go see all 3 Chicago Phil shows coming up if they were just a little cheaper... $55 on TM with all the fees

but to be honest I'd pay $100 for Ratdog...those guys deserve it and there's nothing closer to the GD as far as musical energy IMO.. I heard Bob in an interview once say he'd play for free but he has to pay his band and crew etc etc etc
