When it doesn't fit anywhere else

I started my freshman year monday. It's not as bad as I thought it'd be, but it still sucks to be back in school. On a brighter note, I did see a few people with Dead shirts. Don't see many kids my age appreciate the Dead. But I miss the summer. And I miss having time to enjoy myself. Now it's just rush, rush, rush. Oh well, we all gotta grow up someday....

when I began college I was also happy to meet a few deadheads, being that none of my friends around home listen to them. enjoy yourself

I remember summers, hooking up with friends, road tripping, camping, scrambling for tickets, getting escorted to the county line. Damn I miss the Grateful Dead....

I am actually quitting my job of 8 years and going back to school full time! Being 40, this is a treat that I was somehow able to convince my wife was a good idea!

Its kinda intimidating being the grey haired weirdo I always laughed at 20 years ago.

I started teaching computer science at the University level when I was in my early 20's. It was a strange situation because half the students were my age and the other half were the same age as my parents.

I would go hang out at a bar or go to a party and run into my students everywhere..

phpbb,
I went to college at age 40 on a parent scholarship (my daughter was enrolled). I had to take college algebra as a pre-requisite for the computer science curriculum and the teacher asked the class when their last algebra course was. Some answered last semester, some last summer, I said "Do you remember a little thing called Woodstock...."
Good luck and have fun!

Eric -

Maybe I'll see you (no pun intended) on Campus.

I'm the 40 year old grey haired guy ;)

I just started graduate school at the University of Florida.

I really hit the jackpot here: my thesis advisor is also a head, and my deptartment (geology) has their own inhouse bluegrass band.

I start at the University of Oregon in a month.

Everyone else has already moved out and started class... :(

I feel you bud, I go to Washington & Lee and don't get to go back for another 2 weeks. On the upside, its good distraction-free practice...[/quote]
