9/3/77 Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ

I know I've said it before, but this is one helluva show, kids, and if you haven't heard it, git on down to the local store and pick up a copy! Smokin'!

Awesome version of Half-Step and Peggy-O in the first set.

Just listening to it for the first time in about a year, so I'm re-living it all over again. I'll post more as I progress through the show. I can already tell you that the version of EYES they play in the 2nd set is on something good, one of my favorite versions evah!

I happen to be a big fan of Jerrys "chord solos" on Eyes from this show. Great Stuff! ~pb

I agree with Mississipp and NFA wholeheartedly. Both smokin versions. That whole show is a competent show.

This show was practically right im my back yard. The atmosphere was unreal. It was one big muddy mess but a lot of fun. One thing that was really cool for me was the there was so many people I knew. It seemed my whole high school was there, not just the normal dead heads we saw at every show.

the transition from estimated to eyes ...pure magic, the Jerry crystaline chord embelishments during the eyes solo's... pure nirvana. The whole show is fantastic. Talk about energy... I have a bootleg album( I know I am dating myself), sezs its made in Venuezuela...very cool!

Best show of the year! trukin, NFA, and halfstep are out of this world. not to mention the eyes of the world. Englishtown and the mosque shows were my favorite from this year

The Estimated is also pretty fine. Nice swampy tone coming from Jerry; I'm guessing that's the Mu-Tron, and it sounds like he's having a blast with it.

The only thing about this show - my copy is burned from the Dicks Picks version, and Jer seems to be rather low in the mix which I'm ok with, it gives me a chance to really hear Bob, Phil, & Keith, who are all quite high (haha...probably literally and figurtively!). I love shows where I can hear both Bob & Phil, because you really get a great appreciation for how good they were and how what they were playing really made the band come together.

I also noticed this: being the Music Never Stopped is a fairly new tune at this point, I noticed they didn't jam on the spacey/floaty part after Bob stops singing, and rather they jam out hard on the pat after that, where they come back into the intro groove. Interesting, because in later years, it was the opposite - they jam out for a while on the first part, and the queue to the end of the song was when they came back to the intro.

I like when they jam both parts out. The spacy and the rocking part. Like my favorite version alpine 89. Now that is how you close a first set.
