If you could take a song out of the setlist and add another, what would you add and what would you take out of it. Be realistic about it though, don't say dark star for minglewood in the first set...

but of course you can also choose to keep it exactly how it is!

i would personally change the encore from saturday night to brokedown palace

I personally dont find the show to be anything spectacular so Id rather choose a show like 2-3-78 or 2-27-69 to discuss. Besides, apart from later 80's early 90's shows I have absolutely no problems with ANY setlists. I love all the songs so it dont matter what they do

I would replace all the songs with Avril Lavigne's "I Don't Like Your Girlfriend"

I had to stop wearing grateful dead shirts out in public becuase of the 15 year old kids keep asking me "have you ever heard 5/8/77" or even better "where you at 5/8/77"

"Dude I'm in my twenties, No, and I actually try not to listen to that show if I can help it." "can I have my change please."

But to the point the only part of that show that I would have to keep hold of is the row jimmy, brown eyed women, and the morning dew. The rest is average at best.

Well I was there and it was a very engerzied show.

you lucky fuck

I would definitely boot Row Jimmy out of there, replace it with Peggy-O

Peggy-O's automatically give a setlist +10 strength

Honestly, it's a great show that gets overhyped.

I wouldn't change thing.

Im with August West on one part. That Row Jimmy is the best ive ever heard. There arent any other favorites from that show but all around decent music. The scarlet fire is one of the better ones. The peggy-o is good but ive heard better. And again the morning dew was good but ive heard much better.
Oh and the Lazy Lightnin>Supplication was good on that

That transition between the 2 is monstroric. I think just made that word up, actually. It's monsterous and historic in one, I guess. It's alive. Love Phil on that one; he earthquakes my speakers on the SBD copy I have.

But probably my favorite Scarlet>Fire evah, doood! It's killah, guy! (sorry, couldn't resist my Maine accent coming through on type)

And I agree with whoever said they wouldn't change anything about a setlist, because I like what they play just fine, and that's what makes some shows your personal fav's and others just regular (though still better than any band out there, of course).

All I listen to these days from that show is Dancin' and NFA.

My top two Jerry solos of all time.

Third being the solo on the studio cut of Cats Under The Stars.

Why would you want to change anything?

The scarlet>fire jam is, as someone elsewhere put it "a historical relic". I don't see why people see it as average, what do they expect from it? I haven't heard a single transition from song to song that was as smooth and elegant as that one, first time you hear it you don't know when one song end and the other begins, its stellar...

honestly i can't understand why this show gets such a bad rap. sure it's a little overhyped but i mean the scarlet>fire is fucking extraordinary. same with the jack straw. i wouldn't change a thing about this show, it's another wonderful dead show man.

You actually found that J straw to be extraordinary? Well to each his own but I dunno. That one does nothin for me. In fact I never even turn it on. IMO there are much better ones and im sure you listened to a good amount but still id suggest lookin some more.

Im just gonna make a list now and say what I think was good on that show lol. This'll settle my end of the deal once and for all.

Loser
Deal
Lazy>Supp
Mama Tried
Row Jimmy
Scarlet>Fire
NFA

The rest of it im not saying is bad. But I find it mediocre.
