one great thing about that set of shows was the campin which i love to do .. ( shout out gatheringofthevibes.com 8 days away)
but bobby starts the i know you rider set po'd at jer and brent for, well doing what they would do, and , though chastened, they shrug it off... then when bobby starts goin loud on his part, jerry hits it with i wish i was a headlight part.. W W OOO W!!
sometimes i see bands try to do that part and i always smile.. it's like listening to someone else sing tons of steel.. it's great for the effort, but it's that bit o magic there that is it..
i ripped the sound on the dvd using a store bought dvd sound ripper myself... i always read dvd audio is supposed to be better but am not certain that it is if ripped, but if it is that is easy enough to do

Actually that was the one Alpine run that the camping was sort of awful! Unless you enjoy being in a tent that is floating down a cold muddy slope... as on the 2nd & 3rd nights. Anti-climactic ending to an incredible venue ...but at least we had that first night that was so totally magical. The first set of the next night 7/18/89 also- maybe the best first set I've ever witnessed. And Cal Expo the following month was one hELLUVA three-night run!!! Check out 8/4/89 II
