Personally thought it was fantastic. Kimock struggled on a few songs, but he didn't try to get in the way when he came upon an unfamiliar place, he simply quited down a little and didn't try to force it. He did incredibly on some songs, worth noting are the Loser & Black Peter (Boston show, 7/10/07). It was nice to hear a different take on Ratdog and, even though they didn't need it, per se, it gave them a nice shot in the arm.

Ratdog definitely has it going on right now, with or without MKII.

I just got back from Red Rocks a while ago...man I'm exhausted. It was a smokin' time, though. Keller had a pretty laid back set, but his "til the morning comes" was a lot of fun imho. Then he and Bob performed an acoustic "dark star", which really blew me away. It was my first time to see Ratdog live, and I enjoyed it a lot. "Shakedown" and "Loser" were both pretty outstanding among others. One surprise for me was how great Jeff Chimenti is on the keys. And sure, Kimock was great, but I wish MK had been there to put some emotion into it. All in all I left satisfied after partying with generations of folks dancin' their asses off and bein' kind to one another in the process. Good times!!

Ratdog was great, great scene, great crowd, Keller was cool, and Bobby ripped ... I take back all my reservations about Kimock, he was freaking great, except he sits down all the damn time ... regardless they were very very good and I will go again and again ... not a better place to see music in AMerica than Red Rocks !!!!!!!!! See everybody at Leftover Salmon tomarrow !!!!!!!!

Saw him in Charlottesville VA, and they were fantastic. end of the second set had a mind blowing estimated > the other one> dear prudence. Those three songs sandwhiched together was the best hour of music I've heard live this year. Fantastic. Nice easy answers and eyes of the world as well. and a ripple encore. tasty.

Caught Ratdog last night along with the A brothers. Ratdog put on a good show but unfortunately Bob kept the reins tight on Kimock and and only gave him an extended spotlight on Playing reprise and Iko both of which rocked and were by far and away the highlights of the night. The rest of the night Kimock was relagated to quick leads and fills that could barely be heard over over Bob, the sax, and keyboard player (who is amazing) who were turned up in the mix. When Kimock is given time to set up a solo there is no one better. I can see why MK would be a better fit for Ratdog as they are a rock and roll band not a jam band by any means.

i think ratdog fits the jamband category rather well...

some of the shows i've listened to, they end up jamming more than the dead.

BTW, I got sad when I heard Bobby didn't have the chops for WRS Prelude and needed the sax.
